We are over the moon to be working with our network to commission performances, workshops and creative projects for Creative West End Markets in 2023.
If you have an idea that could help the market be a beautiful, entertaining and engaging place to be then please let us know and we’ll see if we can help you develop it further!
Over the 5 markets between May and September there will be a number of commissions and performance opportunities worth £40 - £250 up for grabs.
Each market will have an overarching theme and some commissions will link to these:
Sat 13th May – We love the West End.
Sat 10th June – Young People's Takeover (But everyone’s still welcome!)
Sat 8th July – We love the planet.
Sat 12th August – Carnival Vibes.
Sat 9th September – Food & Fires.
In 2023 Markets will take place on the second Saturday of the month at West End Gardens (Morecambe Prom), running from 11am - 4pm.
Examples of things you might want to offer:
Live performance – poets, storytellers, dancers, singers, musicians, DJs, live artists, theatre performers, magicians, clowns…
Creative projects – exhibitions, visual arts, writing, film, spoken word, digital, crafts…
Workshops – interactive artistic activities for people to get stuck in with at the markets
To hear as many thoughts as possible we’ll;
Set up a survey to collect thoughts
Gather info at the net-work parties
Scour the network fb group for any ideas that people want to offer.
ALSO! If you’re not looking for commission but have an idea for something that would make the markets shine brighter then please share it!
For people who can make the network party on April 12th there’ll be a chance to share and submit ideas for commissions as well as dream up brand new ideas.
